حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْفَقِيهُ الْإِسْمَاعِيلِيُّ ثنا أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ ثنا هَارُونُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ ثنا عَبْدَةُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ وَهْبُ بْنُ كَيْسَانَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَطَاءٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

خَرَجَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ عَلَى جِنَازَةٍ وَمَعَهُ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ فَسَمِعَ نِسَاءً يَبْكِينَ فَزَبَرَهُنَّ عُمَرُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «يَا عُمَرُ دَعْهُنَّ فَإِنَّ الْعَيْنَ دَامِعَةٌ وَالنَّفْسَ مُصَابَةٌ وَالْعَهْدَ قَرِيبٌ»

✧ The Prophet ﷺ went out for a funeral, and with him was Umar b. al-Khattab. He heard women weeping, and Umar rebuked them. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “O Umar, leave them, for the eye sheds tears, the soul is afflicted, and the time is near.”
