✧ I prayed with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ one night in Ramadan in a room made of palm branches. He stood and said the takbir, then said: 'Allah is the Greatest, Possessor of might and dominion, and Possessor of pride and greatness.' Then he began al-Baqarah and recited. I said: 'He will reach one hundred verses.' Then I said: 'He will reach two hundred.' Then he began Āl 'Imrān and recited it, then he began al-Nisā' and recited it, not passing by a verse of warning except that he stopped and sought refuge. Then he bowed for the same length as he had stood, saying: 'Glory be to my Lord, the Magnificent,' repeating it. Then he raised his head and said: 'Allah hears the one who praises Him. O Allah, our Lord, to You belongs praise,' for the same length as his bowing. Then he prostrated for the same length as his standing, saying: 'Glory be to my Lord, the Most High,' and saying between the two prostrations: 'Lord, forgive me.' He did not pray except four rak'ahs from the night prayer from the beginning of the night until its end, until Bilal came and announced to him the dawn prayer.
