✧ I asked ʿAbdullah b. al-Mubarak about the prayer in which glorification is performed. He said, “You say takbir, then say: ‘Glory be to You, O Allah, and with Your praise; blessed is Your name, exalted is Your majesty, and there is no god other than You.’ Then you say fifteen times: ‘Glory be to Allah, praise be to Allah, there is no god but Allah, and Allah is most great.’ Then you seek refuge and recite ‘In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate,’ the Opening of the Book, and a surah. Then you say ten times: ‘Glory be to Allah, praise be to Allah, there is no god but Allah, and Allah is most great.’ Then you bow and say it ten times. Then you raise your head and say it ten times. Then you prostrate and say it ten times. Then you raise your head and say it ten times. Then you make the second prostration and say it ten times. Then you raise your head and say it ten times. You pray four rak'ahs in this manner. That is seventy-five glorifications in each rak'ah, making a total of three hundred. If he prays it at night, I prefer that he say the salam after two rak'ahs. If he prays it during the day, he may say the salam or not, as he wishes.”
