So he said: "Mention Allah's Greatness (saying: Allahu Akbar) ten times, mention Allah's Glory (saying: Subhan Allah) ten times, and mention Allah's praise (saying: Al-Hamdulilah) ten times. Then ask as you like, (for which) He says: 'Yes. Yes.'"

machine translationHe said: On this topic there are narrations from Ibn ʿAbbās, ʿAbdullāh b. ʿAmr, al-Faḍl b. ʿAbbās and Abū Rāfiʿ. Abū ʿĪsā said: The hadith of Anas is a good and strange (ḥasan gharīb) hadith. More than one hadith has been narrated from the Prophet ﷺ about the Prayer of Glorification (ṣalāt al-tasbīḥ), but not much of it is authentic. Ibn al-Mubārak and more than one of the people of knowledge endorsed the Prayer of Glorification and mentioned its virtue. Aḥmad b. ʿAbdah narrated to us, Abū Wahb narrated to us, he said: I asked ʿAbdullāh b. al-Mubārak about the prayer in which glorification is made. He said: He says the takbīr, then says: "Glory and praise be to You, O Allah, blessed is Your name, exalted is Your majesty, and there is no god other than You." Then he says fifteen times: "Glory be to Allah, praise be to Allah, there is no god but Allah, and Allah is the Greatest." Then he seeks refuge, recites "In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Especially Merciful", the Fātiḥah of the Book and a sūrah. Then he says ten times: "Glory be to Allah, praise be to Allah, there is no god but Allah, and Allah is the Greatest." Then he bows and says it ten times. Then he raises his head from the bowing and says it ten times. Then he prostrates and says it ten times. Then he raises his head and says it ten times. Then he prostrates a second time and says it ten times. He prays four rakʿahs in this way, so that is seventy-five glorifications in each rakʿah; in each rakʿah he begins with fifteen glorifications, then recites, then glorifies ten times. If he prays at night, I prefer that he give the salām after every two rakʿahs; if he prays by day, he may give the salām if he wishes, or he may not. Abū Wahb said: ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz b. Abī Rizmah informed me from ʿAbdullāh that he said: He begins in the bowing with "Glory be to my Lord, the Almighty" and in the prostration with "Glory be to my Lord, the Most High" three times, then says the glorifications. Aḥmad b. ʿAbdah said: Wahb b. Zamʿah narrated to us, he said: ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz, who is Ibn Abī Rizmah, informed me, he said: I said to ʿAbdullāh b. al-Mubārak: If he forgets in it, does he glorify ten times each in the two prostrations of forgetfulness? He said: No, it is only three hundred glorifications.
