حَدَّثَنَاهُ أَبُو الْحُسَيْنِ عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ مُكْرَمٍ الْبَزَّارُ بِبَغْدَادَ ثنا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ كَزَالٍ ثنا أَبُو إِبْرَاهِيمَ التَّرْجُمَانِيُّ ثنا شُعَيْبُ بْنُ صَفْوَانَ ثنا يُونُسُ بْنُ خَبَّابٍ عَنِ الْمِنْهَالِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو عَنْ زَاذَانَ عَنْ أَبِي الْبَخْتَرِيِّ الطَّائِيِّ سَمِعْتُ الْبَرَاءَ بْنَ عَازِبٍ
أَنَّهُ قَالَ «خَرَجْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فِي جَنَازَةِ رَجُلٍ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ فَأَتَيْنَا الْقَبْرَ وَلَمَّا يُلْحَدْ فَجَلَسَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَاسْتَقْبَلَ الْقِبْلَةَ وَجَلَسْنَا حَوْلَهُ» ثُمَّ ذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ «يُعَلَّلُ بِهِ هَذَا الْحَدِيثُ وَلَيْسَ كَذَلِكَ فَإِنَّ ذِكْرَ أَبِي الْبَخْتَرِيِّ فِي هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ وَهْمٌ مِنْ شُعَيْبِ بْنِ صَفْوَانَ لِإِجْمَاعِ الْأَئِمَّةِ الثِّقَاتِ» عَلَى رِوَايَتِهِ عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ خَبَّابٍ عَنِ الْمِنْهَالِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو عَنْ زَاذَانَ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ الْبَرَاءَ حَدَّثَنَا بِصِحَّةِ مَا ذَكَرْتُهُ جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ نَصْرٍ الْخُلْدِيُّ إِمْلَاءً بِبَغْدَادَ ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ زِيَادٍ سَبَلَانَ ثنا عَبَّادُ بْنُ عَبَّادٍ قَالَ أَتَيْتُ يُونُسَ بْنَ خَبَّابٍ بِمِنًى عِنْدَ الْمَنَارَةِ وَهُوَيَقُصُّ فَسَأَلْتُهُ عَنْ حَدِيثِ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ فَحَدَّثَنِي بِهِ

✧ he said: 'We went out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ for the funeral of a man from the Ansar, and we came to the grave before it was dug as a lahd. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sat down, faced the qiblah, and we sat around him.' Then he mentioned the hadith. 'This hadith is deemed defective, but it is not so, for the mention of Abu al-Bakhtari in this hadith is an error by Shu'ayb b. Safwan, due to the consensus of the trustworthy imams' on its transmission from Yunus b. Khabbab, from al-Minhal b. 'Amr, from Zadhan, that he heard al-Bara'. Ja'far b. Muhammad b. Nasr al-Khuldi narrated to us in Baghdad, from dictation, confirming the soundness of what I have mentioned: 'Ali b. 'Abd al-'Aziz narrated to us: Ibrahim b. Ziyad Sabalan narrated to us: 'Abbad b. 'Abbad narrated to us, saying: I came to Yunus b. Khabbab at Mina, near the minaret, while he was relating stories, and I asked him about the hadith of the punishment of the grave, and he narrated it to me.
