80. ✧ Bilal, the freed slave of Abu Bakr

" دَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ فَتْحِ مَكَّةَ الْكَعْبَةَ فَأَغْلَقَ عَلَيْهِ الْبَابَ، وَدَخَلَ مَعَهُ الْفَضْلُ بْنُ عَبَّاسٍ وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ وَأُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ وَبِلَالٌ "، فَلَمَّا خَرَجُوا سَابَقْتُ النَّاسَ فَسَبَقْتُهُمْ، فَقُلْتُ لِبِلَالٍ: أَيْنَ صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ ؟ قَالَ: بَيْنَ الْعَمُودَيْنِ الْمُقَدَّمَيْنِ حِيَالَ الْجَزْعَةِ
✧ On the day of the conquest of Makkah, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered the Ka'bah and locked the door behind him. Al-Fadl b. Abbas, Uthman b. Talhah, Usamah b. Zayd, and Bilal entered with him. When they came out, I raced the people and beat them. I said to Bilal: “Where did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ pray?” He said: “Between the two front pillars, opposite the entrance.”

" مَا نُهِينَا إِلَّا عَنْ صَلَاةٍ قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ؛ فَإِنَّهَا تَطْلُعُ بَيْنَ قَرْنَيْ شَيْطَانٍ "، أَوْ قَالَ: " عَلَى قَرْنَيْ شَيْطَانٍ
✧ "We were only forbidden from praying before sunrise, for it rises between the two horns of a devil," or he said: "upon the two horns of a devil."
