    كُنْتُ أَمْشِي وَعَلَيَّ بُرْدَةٌ لِي أَجُرُّهَا، فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ: ارْفَعْ ثَوْبَكَ فَإِنَّهُ أَتْقَى وَأَبْقَى، فَنَظَرْتُ فَإِذَا هُوَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ، فَقُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنَّمَا هِيَ بُرْدَةٌ مَلْحَاءُ ! فَقَالَ: " أَمَا لَكَ فِيَّ أُسْوَةٌ ؟ "، فَنَظَرْتُ فَإِذَا إِزَارُهُ إِلَى نِصْفِ سَاقِهِ

    ✧ I was walking wearing a cloak of mine that I was dragging, and a man said: Raise your garment, for it is more God-fearing and more durable. I looked, and behold it was the Prophet ﷺ. I said: O Messenger of God, it is only a striped cloak! He said: Do you not have in me an example to follow? Then I looked, and his lower garment reached to the middle of his shin.

    آخَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بَيْنَ رَجُلَيْنِ، فَقُتِلَ أَحَدُهُمَا وَبَقِيَ الْآخَرُ، ثُمَّ مَاتَ فَصَلَّوْا عَلَيْهِ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: " مَا قُلْتُمْ ؟ "، قَالُوا: دَعَوْنَا اللهَ أَنْ يَغْفِرَ لَهُ وَيَرْحَمَهُ وَيُلْحِقَهُ بِصَاحِبِهِ. فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: فَأَيْنَ صَلَاتُهُ بَعْدَ صَلَاتِهِ ؟ وَأَيْنَ عَمَلُهُ بَعْدَ عَمَلِهِ ؟ "، وَأَظُنُّهُ قَالَ: " وَأَيْنَ صَوْمُهُ بَعْدَ صَوْمِهِ ؟ وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَلَّذِي بَيْنَهُمَا أَبْعَدُ مَا بَيْنَ السَّمَاءِ وَالْأَرْضِ

    ✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ established brotherhood between two men. One of them was killed, and the other remained. Then he died, and they prayed over him. The Messenger of God ﷺ said: What did you say? They said: We supplicated God to forgive him, have mercy on him, and join him to his companion. The Messenger of God ﷺ said: Then where is his prayer after his prayer? And where is his deeds after his deeds? And I think he said: And where is his fasting after his fasting? By Him in whose hand is my soul, the [distance] between them is farther than what is between heaven and earth.
