24. ✧ The letter Nun

    إِذَا طَنَّتْ أُذُنُ أَحَدِكُمْ فَلْيَذْكُرْنِي وَلْيُصَلِّ عَلَيَّ

    ✧ When one of you hears a ringing in his ear, let him remember me and invoke blessings upon me.

    مَنْ بَنَى لِلهِ مَسْجِدًا، وَلَوْ كَمَفْحَصِ قَطَاةٍ بَنَى اللهُ لَهُ بَيْتًا فِي الْجَنَّةِ

    ✧ Whoever builds a mosque for Allah, even like a nest of a sandgrouse, Allah will build for him a house in Paradise.

    قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لِأَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ: اللَّهُمَّ، بَارِكْ لَهُمْ فِي صَاعِهِمْ وَمُدِّهِمْ

    ✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to the people of Madinah: 'O Allah, bless them in their sa' and their mudd.'

    انْظُرُوا إِلَى مَنْ هُوَ دُونَكُمْ، وَلَا تَنْظُرُوا إِلَى مَنْ هُوَ فَوْقَكُمْ؛ فَإِنَّهُ أَجْدَرُ أَنْ لَا تَزْدَرُوا نِعْمَةَ اللهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ

    ✧ Look at those below you and do not look at those above you, for it is more likely that you will not belittle the blessing of Allah, the Mighty and Sublime.

    لَا يَزَالُ الْمُؤْمِنُ مُعْنِقًا صَالِحًا مَا لَمْ يُصِبْ دَمًا حَرَامًا، فَإِذَا أَصَابَ دَمًا حَرَامًا بَلَّحَ

    ✧ A believer continues to be swift and righteous as long as he does not shed forbidden blood; when he sheds forbidden blood, he is exhausted.

    نَهَى عَنِ النَّوْمِ قَبْلَ الْعِشَاءِ، وَالْحَدِيثِ بَعْدَهَا

    ✧ He forbade sleeping before 'Isha and engaging in talk after it.

    مَا بَيْنَ بَيْتِي وَمِنْبَرِي رَوْضَةٌ مِنْ رِيَاضِ الْجَنَّةِ، وَمِنْبَرِي عَلَى تُرْعَةٍ مِنْ تُرَعِ الْجَنَّةِ

    ✧ Between my house and my pulpit is a garden of the gardens of Paradise, and my pulpit is upon one of the canals of Paradise.

    إِنَّ اللهَ فَرَضَ فَرَائِضَ فَلَا تُضَيِّعُوهَا، وَحَدَّ حُدُودًا فَلَا تَعْتَدُوهَا، وَسَكَتَ عَنْ كَثِيرٍ مِنْ غَيْرِ نِسْيَانٍ فَلَا تَتَكَلَّفُوهَا رَحْمَةً مِنَ اللهِ فَاقْبَلُوهَا

    ✧ Indeed Allah has ordained obligations, so do not neglect them; and He has set limits, so do not overstep them; and He has remained silent about many things, not out of forgetfulness, so do not seek them out—as a mercy from Allah, so accept them.
