✧ Al-‘Abbas came to the Prophet ﷺ while he was angry. He said: “What is the matter with you?” He said: “O Messenger of Allah, we go out and see Quraysh talking, but when they see us they fall silent.” The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “By the One in whose hand is my soul, faith will not enter the heart of any person until he loves you for the sake of Allah and for my kinship.”

✧ Al-‘Abbas stood before the Prophet ﷺ while he was angry, and he said: “What is the matter with you?” He said: “O Messenger of Allah, what is the matter with us and Quraysh?” He said: “What is the matter with you and them?” He said: “Some of them meet each other with radiant faces, but when they meet us they meet us with something different.” He became angry until a vein between his eyes throbbed, then he said: “By the One in whose hand is my soul, faith will not enter the heart of any person until he loves you for the sake of Allah and His Messenger.” Then he said: “What is wrong with men who harm me regarding al-‘Abbas? A man’s paternal uncle is the like of his father.”
