✧ Quraysh came to Abu Talib and said: “Your nephew harms us in our gathering place and our mosque, so forbid him from harming us.” He said: “O ‘Aqil, go to Muhammad and call him.” So I went and brought him. He came in the middle of the day, walking through the shade, and sat at the threshold of the door while Quraysh were with Abu Talib. He said: “O son of my brother, your cousins claim that you harm them in their gathering place and their mosque, so stop doing that.” He said: “The Messenger of Allah ﷺ raised his gaze to the sky, then said: ‘Do you see this sun?’ They said: ‘Yes.’ He said: ‘I am no more able to abandon that than you are able to bring me a flame from it.’” He said: “Abu Talib said: ‘My nephew has not lied to us, so go back.’” He said: “So they went back.”

✧ ‘Aqil b. Abi Talib married a woman from Banu Hashim, and some people entered upon him. He said: “Will you not congratulate me?” They began to say: “With harmony and sons.” He said: “Do not say that, but say: ‘May Allah bless you, and may He bless upon you.’ Indeed, we were commanded to do that.”
