81. ✧ Abdullah b. Sarjis

    رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ، وَأَكَلْتُ مَعَهُ خُبْزًا وَلَحْمًا أَوْ قَالَ: ثَرِيدًا، فَقُلْتُ: غَفَرَ اللهُ لَكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، قَالَ: وَلَكَ، قُلْتُ لِعَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ سَرْجِسَ: اسْتَغْفَرَ لَكَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ، وَلَكَ، وَتَلَا هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ: وَاسْتَغْفِرْ لِذَنْبِكَ وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ، قَالَ: ثُمَّ دُرْتُ حَتَّى صِرْتُ خَلْفَهُ فَرَأَيْتُ خَاتَمَ النُّبُوَّةِ عِنْدَ نُغْضِ كَتِفِهِ الْيُسْرَى جُمْعًا عَلَيْهِ خِيلَانٌ

    ✧ I saw the Messenger of God ﷺ and ate with him bread and meat — or he said: tharid. I said: May God forgive you, O Messenger of God. He said: And you. I said to 'Abdullah b. Sarjis: Did the Messenger of God ﷺ ask forgiveness for you? He said: Yes, and for you. And he recited this verse: "And ask forgiveness for your sin and for the believing men and believing women" (Q 47:19). He said: Then I went around until I was behind him, and I saw the seal of prophethood near the cartilage of his left shoulder, like a clenched fist with moles on it.

    نَهَى أَنْ يَغْتَسِلَ الرَّجُلُ بِفَضْلِ الْمَرْأَةِ، وَتَغْتَسِلَ الْمَرْأَةُ بِفَضْلِ الرَّجُلِ، وَلَكِنْ يَشْرَعَانِ فِيهِ جَمِيعًا

    ✧ He forbade that a man bathe with the leftover water of a woman, and that a woman bathe with the leftover water of a man, but rather they should both scoop from it together.
