✧ A Bedouin came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: Peace be upon you, O youth of Banu Abd al-Muttalib. He said: “And upon you.” He said: I am a man from your maternal uncles, from Banu Sa'd b. Bakr, and I am the messenger of my people to you and their delegate. I will ask you and press my question upon you, and I will adjure you and press my adjuration of you. He said: “Ask, O brother of Banu Sa'd.” He said: Who created you and created those before you, and who is the Creator of those after you? He said: “Allah.” He said: Then I adjure you by that—is it He who sent you? He said: “Yes.” He said: Who created the seven heavens and the seven earths and made provision flow between them? He said: “Allah.” He said: Then I adjure you by that—is it He who sent you? He said: “Yes.” He said: We found in your book, and your messengers commanded us, that we should pray five prayers in the day and night at their times, so I adjure you by that—is it He who commanded you? He said: “Yes.” He said: Then we found in your book, and your messengers commanded us, that we should take from the surplus of our wealth and return it to our poor, so I adjure you by that—is it He who commanded you with that? He said: “Yes.” Then he said: As for the fifth, I will not ask you about it, and I have no need of it. Then he said: By the One who sent you with the truth, I will act upon them and whoever obeys me from my people. Then he turned back, and the Prophet ﷺ laughed until his molars appeared, then said: “By the One in whose hand is my soul, if he is truthful he will surely enter Paradise.”
