أَخْبَرَنَا وَهْبُ بْنُ جَرِيرٍ عَنْ هِشَامٍ الدَّسْتَوَائِيِّ عَنْ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ زَيْنَبَ بِنْتِ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ قَالَتْ
بَيْنَا أَنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ مُضْطَجِعَةٌ فِي الْخَمِيلَةِ إِذْ حِضْتُ فَانْسَلَلْتُ فَأَخَذْتُ ثِيَابَ حِيضَتِي فَقَالَ «أَنَفِسْتِ؟» قُلْتُ نَعَمْ قَالَتْ «فدَعَانِي فَاضْطَجَعْتُ مَعَهُ فِي الْخَمِيلَةِ»

✧ While I was lying with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in a velvet cloth, my menstruation started, so I slipped away and took my menstrual garments. He said, "Have you started menstruating?" I said, "Yes." She said, "He called me, and I lay with him in the velvet cloth."

machine translationThe hadith of Yaḥyā b. Abī Kathīr is more likely correct than the hadith of ʿUqayl. My father said: "al-Zuhrī was too precise for something like this to escape him, but I fear that ʿUqayl did not transmit it from him accurately."
