حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ الْجَوْهَرِيُّ نا أَبُو الْمُوَجِّهِ نا عَبْدَانُ عَنْ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي الْعَاصِ
أَنَّ عُمَرَ مَرَّ عَلَى إِدَاوَةٍ لِرَجُلٍ مِنْ ثَقِيفٍ فَقَالَ ائْتُونِي بِهَذَا النَّبِيذِ فَأُتِيَ بِهِ فَأَخَذَهُ فَوَجَدَهُ شَدِيدًا فَقَالَ مَنْ رَابَهُ مِنْ هَذَا النَّبِيذِ شَيْءٌ فَلْيَكْسِرْ مُنْتَهُ بِالْمَاءِ

✧ Umar passed by a water skin belonging to a man from Thaqif and said: Bring me this nabidh. It was brought to him, and he took it and found it strong. He said: Whoever is troubled by anything from this nabidh, let him break its intensity with water.
