I asked ʿUrwah about the man who has intercourse and does not ejaculate. He said: "The people's saying is that one should take the latest of the command of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ." And ʿĀʾishah narrated to me that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to do that and not perform ghusl, and that was before the conquest of Mecca. Then after that he performed ghusl and commanded the people to perform ghusl.

  • Maghlaṭay

machine translationA hadith that is not to be used as proof because of the weakness (ḍaʿf) of its narrator al-Ḥusayn b. ʿImrān. In sum, however, it is a good (ḥasan) and sound hadith in the chapter of citing evidence for abrogation (naskh).

    in سنن الدارقطني, p. 458

machine translationIbn Ḥibbān ruled this hadith to be authentic (ṣaḥīḥ), except that al-Ḥusayn b. ʿImrān often brings objectionable reports (manākīr) from al-Zuhrī, and more than one of the scholars of hadith have declared him weak (ḍaʿīf). So the hadith in this wording has its problems, but it is good (ḥasan) and sound as supporting evidence.

    in سنن الدارقطني, p. 458

machine translationHe found it defective because of al-Ḥusayn b. ʿImrān and said: "His hadith is not corroborated, and this wording from ʿĀʾishah is not known except in this hadith."

    in سنن الدارقطني, p. 458
  • al-Bukhari

machine translation"His hadith is not corroborated." Then he mentioned this hadith, meaning al-Ḥusayn b. ʿImrān.
