نا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ نا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ نا أَبُو بَكْرٍ نا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ أَبِي الرِّجَالِ عَنْ أُمِّهِ عَمْرَةَ قَالَتْ

اسْتَبَّ رَجُلَانِ فَقَالَ أَحَدُهُمَا مَا أُمِّي بِزَانِيَةٍ وَلَا أَبِي بِزَانٍ فَشَاوَرَ عُمَرُ الْقَوْمَ فَقَالُوا مَدَحَ أَبَاهُ وَأُمَّهُ فَقَالَ لَقَدْ كَانَ لَهُمَا مِنَ الْمَدْحِ غَيْرُ هَذَا فَضَرَبَهُ

✧ Two men exchanged insults. One of them said: 'My mother is not an adulteress, nor is my father an adulterer.' Umar consulted the people, and they said: 'He praised his father and mother.' But Umar said: 'They have praise other than this,' and he flogged him.
