machine translationMuṣʿab b. Thābit is not strong (laysa bi-l-qawī), even though Yaḥyā al-Qaṭṭān narrated from him. This hadith is not sound (ṣaḥīḥ), and I do not know of any sound hadith on this subject from the Prophet ﷺ.

machine translationThen the two of them said: "This is a mistake. Rather, it is Hishām b. ʿUrwah, from a man, from Muḥammad b. al-Munkadir, from Jābir, from the Prophet ﷺ." I said: "Then who is the source of the mistake?" They said: "This is not a mistake; rather, a man was omitted from the chain of transmission (isnād)." I said: "Who omitted him, Hishām or Saʿdān?" They said: "It is possible that it came from one of them, from Hishām or from Saʿdān."
