machine translationThis hadith is authentic (ṣaḥīḥ).

  • Abū Zakariyyā Yaḥyá b. Sharaf al-Nawawī

machine translationAl-Nawawī said in Sharḥ al-Muhadhdhab: The chain of transmission of Ibn Mājah meets the criteria of the two Shaykhs (al-Bukhārī and Muslim), and it is as he said.

    in سنن الدارقطني, p. 2717

machine translationThis route is flawed (maʿlūl) because ʿImrān did not hear from ʿĀʾishah, as stated by the author of al-Istidhkār, and because of ʿImrān himself. Al-Dāraquṭnī said in ʿIlal al-Ṣaḥīḥayn: Al-Bukhārī narrated the hadith of ʿImrān b. Ḥiṭṭān, from Ibn ʿUmar, from ʿUmar, on wearing silk, but ʿImrān is abandoned (matrūk) because of his corrupt belief and his evil opinion.
