Indeed, prayer has a beginning and an end. The beginning of the time of Ẓuhr is when the sun passes its zenith, and the end of its time is when the time of ʿAṣr enters. The beginning of the time of ʿAṣr is when its time enters, and the end of its time is when the sun turns yellow. The beginning of the time of Maghrib is when the sun sets, and the end of its time is when the horizon disappears. The beginning of the time of ʿIshāʾ is when the horizon disappears, and the end of its time is when the night reaches its midpoint. The beginning of the time of Fajr is when the dawn appears, and the end of its time is when the sun rises.

Notes
machine translationThis is not authentic as a connected report (musnad). Ibn Fuḍayl erred in its chain of transmission, while others narrate it from al-Aʿmash, from Mujāhid, as a mursal report. 492

- Ibn ʿAbd al-Barr
machine translationThis ḥadīth is, according to all the people of ḥadīth, a rejected (munkar) ḥadīth, and it is an error.
in سنن الدارقطني, p. 1029 - Yaḥyá b. Maʿīn
machine translationAll the people narrated it from al-Aʿmash from Mujāhid as a mursal report. Muḥammad b. Faḍīl narrated it from al-Aʿmash and made a mistake in it. It is a weak (ḍaʿīf) ḥadīth, worthless; it is only from al-Aʿmash from Mujāhid, mursal.
in سنن الدارقطني, p. 1029 - al-Bukhari
machine translationThis ḥadīth of Muḥammad b. Faḍīl is an error; Ibn Faḍīl made a mistake in it.

machine translationZāʾidah and ʿAbthar b. al-Qāsim contradicted him, and narrated it from al-Aʿmash from Mujāhid as his own statement, and that is the correct version.

machine translationIt is not authentic as a connected report (musnad); Ibn Faḍīl and others erred in it. It is narrated from al-Aʿmash from Mujāhid as a mursal report, and that is more authentic.
