حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ؓ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَهُ يَقُولُ
كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَدْخُلُ عَلَى أُمِّ حَرَامٍ بِنْتِ مِلْحَانَ فَتُطْعِمُهُ، وَكَانَتْ أُمُّ حَرَامٍ تَحْتَ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ، فَدَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَأَطْعَمَتْهُ وَجَعَلَتْ تَفْلِي رَأْسَهُ، فَنَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ، ثُمَّ اسْتَيْقَظَ وَهُوَ يَضْحَكُ. قَالَتْ: فَقُلْتُ: وَمَا يُضْحِكُكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ؟ قَالَ: «نَاسٌ مِنْ أُمَّتِي عُرِضُوا عَلَىَّ غُزَاةً فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ، يَرْكَبُونَ ثَبَجَ هَذَا الْبَحْرِ، مُلُوكًا عَلَى الأَسِرَّةِ، أَوْ مِثْلُ الْمُلُوكِ عَلَى الأَسِرَّةِ». قَالَتْ: فَقُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، ادْعُ اللَّهَ أَنْ يَجْعَلَنِي مِنْهُمْ. فَدَعَا لَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ. ثُمَّ وَضَعَ رَأْسَهُ، ثُمَّ اسْتَيْقَظَ وَهُوَ يَضْحَكُ، فَقُلْتُ: وَمَا يُضْحِكُكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ؟ قَالَ: «نَاسٌ مِنْ أُمَّتِي عُرِضُوا عَلَىَّ غُزَاةً فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ»، كَمَا قَالَ فِي الأَوَّلِ. قَالَتْ: فَقُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، ادْعُ اللَّهَ أَنْ يَجْعَلَنِي مِنْهُمْ. قَالَ: «أَنْتِ مِنَ الأَوَّلِينَ». فَرَكِبَتِ الْبَحْرَ فِي زَمَانِ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ، فَصُرِعَتْ عَنْ دَابَّتِهَا حِينَ خَرَجَتْ مِنَ الْبَحْرِ، فَهَلَكَتْ، شَكَّ إِسْحَاقُ.

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to visit Umm Haram bt. Milhan, and she would serve him food. Umm Haram was married to Ubada b. al-Samit. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ visited her, so she served him food and began inspecting his head ˹for lice˺. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ fell asleep, then awoke laughing. She said: I asked, “What makes you laugh, O Messenger of Allah?” He said: “Some people from my nation were shown to me as warriors in the cause of Allah, riding upon the surface of this sea like kings upon thrones—or like kings upon thrones.” She said: I asked, “O Messenger of Allah, pray to Allah to make me one of them.” So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed for her. Then he laid down his head and later awoke laughing. I asked, “What makes you laugh, O Messenger of Allah?” He said: “Some people from my nation were shown to me as warriors in the cause of Allah,” as he had said the first time. She said: I asked, “O Messenger of Allah, pray to Allah to make me one of them.” He said: “You will be among the first.” She later sailed during the time of Muawiyah b. Abu Sufyan. When she disembarked from the sea, she was thrown from her mount and died, Ishaq was uncertain.
