✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said while a group of his Companions were around him: “Pledge allegiance to me that you will not associate anything with Allah, steal, commit adultery, kill your children, bring forth a slander that you fabricate between your hands and feet, or disobey concerning what is right. Whoever among you fulfills this, his reward rests with Allah. Whoever commits any of these things and is punished in this world, it will be an expiation for him. Whoever commits any of these things and Allah conceals it, his affair rests with Allah: if He wills, He will pardon him, and if He wills, He will punish him.” So we pledged allegiance to him on that basis.
