✧ When death descends upon a believer and he sees what he sees, he wishes his soul would come out, while Allah loves to meet him. The believer's soul is taken up to heaven, and the souls of the believers come to him and ask him about their acquaintances among the people of earth. If he says, 'I left so-and-so in the world,' that pleases them. But if he says, 'So-and-so has died,' they say, 'He was not brought to us.' The believer is made to sit in his grave and is asked, 'Who is your Lord?' He says, 'My Lord is Allah.' Then it is said, 'Who is your Prophet?' He says, 'My Prophet is Muhammad ﷺ.' Then it is said, 'What is your religion?' He says, 'My religion is Islam.' A door is opened for him in his grave, and it is said, 'Look at your place.' Then he sees the grave, and it is as if it had been only a short nap. But if he was an enemy of Allah, death descends upon him and he sees what he sees, and he never wants his soul to come out, while Allah hates to meet him. When he is seated in his grave, it is said to him, 'Who is your Lord?' He says, 'I do not know.' It is said, 'You did not know.' A door of Hell is opened for him, then he is struck with a blow that every creature hears except the two heavy ones (jinn and humans). Then it is said to him, 'Sleep as one bitten sleeps.' I said to Abu Hurayra, 'What is manhush?' He said, 'One whom beasts and snakes bite.' Then his grave closes in on him.
