وَبِإِسْنَادِهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ:
أَعْتَمَ رَجُلٌ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ ثُمَّ رَجَعَ إِلَى أَهْلِهِ فَوَجَدَ صِبْيَتَهُ قَدْ نُوِّمُوا، فَحَلَفَ أَنْ لَا يَطْعَمَ، ثُمَّ بَدَا لَهُ فَقَالَ لِامْرَأَتِهِ: أَيْقِظِي الصِّبْيَةَ. فَأَكَلَ، فَأَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَذَكَرَ ذَلِكَ لَهُ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: مَنْ حَلَفَ عَلَى يَمِينٍ فَرَأَى غَيْرَهَا خَيْرًا مِنْهَا فَلْيُكَفِّرْ يَمِينَهُ وَلْيَأْتِهَا
Translation

✧ A man stayed late with the Prophet ﷺ, then returned to his family and found his children had been put to sleep. He swore he would not eat, but then changed his mind and said to his wife, 'Wake the children.' So he ate. Then he came to the Prophet ﷺ and mentioned that to him, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Whoever swears an oath and then sees something better than it, let him atone for his oath and do that better thing.'
