✧ “O Abū Hurayrah, do you have anything with you?” I said: “Yes.” So I took out dates from a provision bag I had, and there were twenty-seven dates in it. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ placed them down while people were with him and said: “Eat in the name of Allah.” They ate, and some remained. He said: “O Abū Hurayrah, put it back in the provision bag. If you want to take something from it, put your hand in it and do not overturn it.” He said: “It remained with me until ʿUthmān ؓ was killed.”
