✧ When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ intended to travel, he would draw lots among his wives. The lot fell to A'ishah for the expedition of Banu al-Mustaliq. In the middle of the night, A'ishah went out to relieve herself, and her necklace came loose, so she went to look for it. Mistah was an orphan under the care of Abu Bakr and part of his household. When A'ishah returned, she did not see the army. Safwan b. al-Mu'attal al-Sulami used to lag behind the people, picking up the bowl, the sack, and the water-skin. I think he said: Is this A'ishah? He turned his face away from her, then brought his camel close to her. He caught up with the army, and they said something, or spoke about it. Then he mentioned the hadith until it ended. He said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would come and stand at the door and say: How is that one of yours? Until one day he came and said: Rejoice, O A'ishah, for Allah has sent down your vindication. She said: We praise Allah, not you. He said: Ten verses were revealed about that: "Indeed, those who came with the falsehood are a group among you." He said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ flogged Mistah, Hannah, and Hassan.
