حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ زِيَادٍ، قَالَ: نَا أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ، عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ:
خَطَبَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ، فَذَكَرَ سُورَةً. قَالَ: فَقَالَ أَبُو ذَرٍّ لِأُبَيٍّ: مَتَى أُنْزِلَتْ هَذِهِ السُّورَةُ ؟ فَأَعْرَضَ عَنْهُ، فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ قَالَ: مَا لَكَ مِنْ صَلَاتِكَ إِلَّا مَا لَغَوْتَ. فَسَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ: صَدَقَ

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ delivered a sermon to us on Friday and mentioned a surah. Abu Dharr said to Ubayy: When was this surah revealed? Ubayy turned away from him. When he finished, he said: You get nothing from your prayer except what you wasted. Then he asked the Prophet ﷺ, and he said: He spoke the truth.
