حَدَّثَنَا رَجَاءُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، قَالَ: نَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ، قَالَ: نَا أَبِي، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:

إِنَّ رَبَّكُمْ - تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى - يَقُولُ: كُلُّ حَسَنَةٍ بِعَشْرِ أَمْثَالِهَا إِلَى سَبْعِمِائَةِ ضِعْفٍ، وَالصَّوْمُ لِي وَأَنَا أَجْزِي بِهِ، وَالصَّوْمُ جُنَّةٌ مِنَ النَّارِ، وَلَخُلُوفُ فَمِ الصَّائِمِ أَطْيَبُ عِنْدَ اللهِ مِنْ رِيحِ الْمِسْكِ

✧ Your Lord — Blessed and Exalted is He — says: Every good deed is multiplied ten times its like, up to seven hundred times; and fasting is for Me and I reward it; fasting is a shield from the Fire; and the odor from the mouth of a fasting person is more pleasant to God than the scent of musk.
