✧ What Sa'id b. al-Musayyib narrated from Abu Hurayra

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى بْنُ حَمَّادٍ، وَهُوَ ابْنُ نَصْرٍ الْبَاهِلِيُّ، قَالَ: نَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ دَاوُدَ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:

ثَلَاثٌ مَنْ كُنَّ فِيهِ فَهُوَ مُنَافِقٌ، وَإِنْ صَامَ وَصَلَّى وَزَعَمَ أَنَّهُ مُؤْمِنٌ: إِذَا حَدَّثَ كَذَبَ، وَإِذَا وَعَدَ أَخْلَفَ، وَإِذَا ائْتُمِنَ خَانَ

✧ Three traits: whoever possesses them is a hypocrite, even if he fasts, prays, and claims to be a believer: when he speaks he lies, when he promises he breaks it, and when he is entrusted he betrays.
