✧ What Sa'id b. al-Musayyib narrated from Abu Hurayra

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، قَالَ: نَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، قَالَ: نَا يُونُسُ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ:

لِلْعَبْدِ الْمَمْلُوكِ الصَّالِحِ أَجْرَانِ، وَالَّذِي نَفْسُ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ بِيَدِهِ لَوْلَا الْحَجُّ وَالْجِهَادُ مَا بَالَيْتُ أَلَّا أَمُوتَ إِلَّا مَمْلُوكًا

Translation

✧ For the righteous owned slave there are two rewards. By the One in Whose hand is the soul of Abu Hurayra, were it not for Hajj and jihad, I would not care if I died only as a slave.
