✧ Ibrahim al-Nakha'i on the authority of Anas

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، نَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ:

كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يُكْثِرُ أَنْ يَقُولَ: يَا مُقَلِّبَ الْقُلُوبِ ثَبِّتْ قَلْبِي عَلَى دِينِكَ، فَقُلْنَا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، آمَنَّا بِكَ وَبِمَا جِئْتَ بِهِ، فَهَلْ تَخَافُ عَلَيْنَا ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ إِنَّ الْقُلُوبَ بَيْنَ إِصْبَعَيْنِ مِنْ أَصَابِعِ اللهِ يُقَلِّبُهَا

Translation

✧ The Prophet ﷺ used to say frequently: “O Turner of hearts, make my heart firm upon Your religion.” We said, “O Messenger of Allah, we believe in you and in what you have brought, so do you fear for us?” He said, “Yes, indeed the hearts are between two of Allah's fingers, and He turns them.”
