✧ The Basrans from Anas

حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ مُثَنَّى، نَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ، نَا حُمَيْدٌ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ:

ثَلَاثٌ مَنْ كُنَّ فِيهِ وَجَدَ بِهِنَّ حَلَاوَةَ الْإِيمَانِ: مَنْ كَانَ اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَحَبَّ إِلَيْهِ مِمَّا سِوَاهُمَا، وَمَنْ أَحَبَّ الْمَرْءَ لَا يُحِبُّهُ إِلَّا لِلهِ، وَمَنْ يَكْرَهُ أَنْ يَرْجِعَ فِي الْكُفْرِ كَمَا يَكْرَهُ أَنْ يُلْقَى فِي النَّارِ.

Translation

✧ There are three things that, whoever has them, finds the sweetness of faith by them: whoever Allah and His Messenger are more beloved to him than anything else; whoever loves a person only for the sake of Allah; and whoever hates to return to disbelief just as he hates to be thrown into the Fire.
