Chain of narrators
  1. Anas

✧ The Prophet ﷺ gave from the spoils of Khaybar: to al-Aqraʿ b. Habis one hundred camels, and to ʿUyayna b. Badr one hundred camels. Some of the Ansar said: 'We give our spoils to a people while our swords are dripping with their blood—or their blood is dripping from our swords!' When the Ansar gathered around him, he said: 'Is there anyone among you besides yourselves?' They said: 'No, except the son of our sister.' He said: 'The son of a people's sister is one of them.' Then he said: 'Are you not pleased, O Ansar, that the people go away with the world—or he said: with camels and sheep—while you take Muhammad ﷺ to your homes?' They said: 'Yes, O Messenger of Allah.' He said: 'If the people took a valley and the Ansar took a mountain pass, I would take the mountain pass of the Ansar. The Ansar are my inner circle and my trusted ones. Were it not for the migration, I would have been a man of the Ansar.'
