✧ The Basrans from Anas

وَبِإِسْنَادِهِ الْأَوَّلِ ; قَالَ: قَالَ أَنَسٌ:

أَخَذَتْنِي أُمُّ سُلَيْمٍ مَقْدَمَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ الْمَدِينَةَ فَقَالَتْ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، أَنَسٌ غُلَامٌ كَاتِبٌ يَخْدُمُكَ، فَخَدَمْتُهُ تِسْعَ سِنِينَ، فَمَا قَالَ لِي فِي شَيْءٍ صَنَعْتُهُ: أَسَأْتَ، وَلَا بِئْسَ مَا صَنَعْتَ.

Translation

✧ Umm Sulaym took me when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to Madinah and said, 'O Messenger of Allah, Anas is a boy who can write and serve you.' I served him for nine years, and he never said to me about anything I did, 'You did badly,' nor 'How bad what you did.'
