وَبِإِسْنَادِهِ إِنْ شَاءَ اللهُ قَالَ:
جَاءَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ سَلَامٍ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي مَقْدَمِهِ الْمَدِينَةَ فَقَالَ: إِنِّي سَائِلُكَ عَنْ ثَلَاثٍ لَا يَعْلَمُهُنَّ إِلَّا نَبِيٌّ: أَوَّلُ مَا يَأْكُلُ أَهْلُ الْجَنَّةِ، وَالْوَلَدُ يَنْزِعُ إِلَى أَبِيهِ وَإِلَى أُمِّهِ، وَأَوَّلُ أَشْرَاطِ السَّاعَةِ ؟ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي بِهِنَّ جِبْرِيلُ آنِفًا، قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ سَلَامٍ: عَدُوُّ الْيَهُودِ مِنَ الْمَلَائِكَةِ، قَالَ: أَوَّلُ أَشْرَاطِ السَّاعَةِ: نَارٌ تَحْشُرُهُمْ مِنَ الْمَشْرِقِ إِلَى الْمَغْرِبِ، وَأَمَّا أَوَّلُ طَعَامٍ يَأْكُلُهُ أَهْلُ الْجَنَّةِ: فَزِيَادَةُ كَبِدِ حُوتٍ، وَأَمَّا الْوَلَدُ: فَإِذَا سَبَقَ مَاءُ الرَّجُلِ نَزَعَهُ، وَإِذَا سَبَقَ مَاءُ الْمَرْأَةِ نَزَعَتْ. قَالَ: أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّكَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ، قَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنَّ الْيَهُودَ قَوْمٌ بُهُتٌ، وَإِنْ عَلِمُوا بِإِسْلَامِي قَبْلَ أَنْ تَسْأَلَهُمْ عَنِّي بَهَتُونِي عِنْدَكَ، فَأَرْسَلَ إِلَى الْيَهُودِ، فَقَالَ: أَيُّ رَجُلٍ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ سَلَامٍ ؟ قَالُوا: خَيْرُنَا وَابْنُ خَيْرِنَا، وَسَيِّدُنَا وَابْنُ سَيِّدِنَا، وَأَعْلَمُنَا، قَالَ: أَرَأَيْتُمْ إِنْ أَسْلَمَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ سَلَامٍ ؟ قَالُوا: أَعَاذَهُ اللهُ مِنْ ذَلِكَ، فَخَرَجَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ سَلَامٍ إِلَيْهِمْ فَقَالَ: أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ، وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللهِ، قَالُوا: بَلْ هُوَ شَرُّنَا، وَانْتَقَصُوهُ، فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ سَلَامٍ: هَذَا مَا كُنْتُ أَخَافُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ.
Translation
✧ Abdullah b. Salam came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ upon his arrival in Madinah and said: I will ask you about three things that none knows but a prophet: the first food the people of Paradise will eat, the child's resemblance to its father or mother, and the first signs of the Hour. He said: Jibril informed me of them just now. Abdullah b. Salam said: The enemy of the Jews among the angels. He said: The first signs of the Hour is a fire that will gather them from the east to the west. As for the first food the people of Paradise will eat, it is an extra piece of fish liver. As for the child, if the man's fluid precedes, the child resembles him, and if the woman's fluid precedes, the child resembles her. He said: I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and I bear witness that you are the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He said: O Messenger of Allah, the Jews are a slanderous people, and if they learn of my Islam before you ask them about me, they will slander me before you. So he sent for the Jews and said: What kind of man is Abdullah b. Salam? They said: Our best and the son of our best, our master and the son of our master, and our most learned. He said: What if Abdullah b. Salam accepts Islam? They said: May Allah protect him from that. Then Abdullah b. Salam came out to them and said: I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. They said: Rather, he is our worst, and they belittled him. Abdullah b. Salam said: This is what I feared, O Messenger of Allah.
