وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَعْمَرٍ، نَا رَوْحٌ، نَا مَالِكٌ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ:

إِنَّمَا مَثَلُ صَاحِبِ الْقُرْآنِ مَثَلُ الْإِبِلِ الْمُعَقَّلَةِ، إِنْ تَعَاهَدَهَا أَمْسَكَهَا، وَإِنْ تَرَكَهَا ذَهَبَتْ

Translation

Chain of narrators

  6. al-Nabī ﷺ

✧ Indeed, the example of the one who has the Qur'an is like that of hobbled camels: if he tends to them, he retains them; but if he neglects them, they wander off.
