حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ، نَا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ، نَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ سِنَانٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الزَّاهِرِيَّةِ، عَنْ كَثِيرِ بْنِ مُرَّةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ:
سَأَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَبَا بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرَ - رَحْمَةُ اللهِ عَلَيْهِمَا- عَنْ وِتْرِهِمَا. فَقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ: أُوتِرُ مِنْ أَوَّلِ اللَّيْلِ. فَقَالَ: حَذِرٌ. وَقَالَ لِعُمَرَ، فَقَالَ: أُوتِرُ آخِرَ اللَّيْلِ، فَقَالَ: قَوِيٌّ مُعَانٌ

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked Abu Bakr and Umar – may Allah have mercy on them both – about their Witr. Abu Bakr said: “I pray Witr at the beginning of the night.” He said: “Cautious.” Then he asked Umar, who said: “I pray Witr at the end of the night.” He said: “Strong and aided.”
