حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ، قَالَ: نَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنِ الْحَجَّاجِ، يَعْنِي: ابْنَ أَرْطَاةَ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ طَاوُسٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ؓ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:
الْعُمْرَى لِمَنْ أُعْمِرَهَا وَالرُّقْبَى لِمَنْ أُرْقِبَهَا وَالْعَائِدُ فِي هِبَتِهِ كَالْعَائِدِ فِي قَيْئِهِ، وَأَحْسَبُهُ قَالَ: وَلَا يَحِلُّ لِأَحَدٍ أَنْ يَهَبَ هِبَةً ثُمَّ يَعُودَ فِيهَا إِلَّا الْوَالِدَ فِيمَا يُعْطِي الْوَلَدَ

✧ A life grant belongs to the one to whom it is given, and a ruqba belongs to the one to whom it is granted; the one who takes back his gift is like the one who swallows back his vomit. I think he said: 'It is not lawful for anyone to give a gift and then take it back, except a parent in what he gives to his child.'
