✧ There were two co-wives between whom there was anger, and one of them threw something at the other and caused her to miscarry a dead boy whose hair had grown. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ruled that the 'aqilah (male relatives) should pay compensation. Her paternal uncle said: "O Messenger of Allah, she miscarried a dead boy whose hair had grown." The father of the killer said: "He is lying; by Allah, he did not cry, nor eat, nor drink, so one like him is to be disregarded." The Prophet ﷺ said: "Is it the rhyming prose of the Jahiliyyah and its soothsaying? For the child there is a ghurrah (compensation)." He said: The name of one of them was Mulaykah and the other Umm 'Atraf.
