✧ Aslam, the freed slave of 'Umar, from 'Umar

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، وَعَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ قَالَا: نَا أَبُو عَامِرٍ قَالَ: نَا هِشَامُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عُمَرَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ:

فِيمَ الرَّمَلَانُ الْآنَ وَالْكَشْفُ عَنِ الْمَنَاكِبِ ؟ وَقَدْ جَاءَ اللهُ بِالْإِسْلَامِ، وَنَفَى الْكُفْرَ وَأَهْلَهُ، وَمَعَ ذَا إِنَّا لَا نَدَعُ شَيْئًا كَانَ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ

✧ Why the ramal now, and the uncovering of the shoulders? God has brought Islam, and expelled disbelief and its people. Yet, even so, we will not abandon anything that was done in the time of the Messenger of God.
