حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ السَّكَنِ قَالَ: نَا يَحْيَى بْنُ كَثِيرٍ الْعَنْبَرِيُّ قَالَ: نَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَطِيَّةَ، عَنْ جَدَّتِهِ أُمِّ عَطِيَّةَ قَالَتْ:
لَمَّا قَدِمَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ الْمَدِينَةَ أَمَرَ نِسَاءَ الْأَنْصَارِ فَجُمِعْنَ فِي بَيْتٍ، ثُمَّ أَرْسَلَ إِلَيْهِنَّ عُمَرَ، فَجَاءَ عُمَرُ فَسَلَّمَ عَلَيْنَا فَقَالَ: أَنَا رَسُولُ رَسُولِ اللهِ إِلَيْكُنَّ، فَقُلْنَ: مَرْحَبًا بِرَسُولِ رَسُولِ اللهِ قَالَ: إِنَّمَا أُبَايِعُكُنَّ عَلَى أَلَّا تَزْنِينَ، وَلَا تَسْرِقْنَ، وَلَا تَقْتُلْنَ أَوْلَادَكُنَّ، وَلَا تَأْتِينَ بِبُهْتَانٍ تَفْتَرِينَهُ بَيْنَ أَيْدِيكُنَّ وَأَرْجُلِكُنَّ، وَلَا تَعْصِينَ فِي مَعْرُوفٍ، ثُمَّ مَدَّ يَدَهُ مِنْ خَارِجِ الْبَيْتِ وَمَدَدْنَا أَيْدِيَنَا مِنْ دَاخِلِ الْبَيْتِ، فَقَالَ: اللَّهُمَّ اشْهَدْ، وَأَمَرَنَا أَنْ نُخْرِجَ فِي الْعِيدَيْنِ الْعُتَّقَ وَالْحُيَّضَ، وَنُهِينَا عَنِ اتِّبَاعِ الْجَنَائِزِ وَلَا جُمُعَةَ عَلَيْنَا

✧ When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to Madinah, he ordered the women of the Ansar, so they were gathered in a house. Then he sent 'Umar to them. 'Umar came and greeted us and said, 'I am the messenger of the Messenger of Allah to you.' We said, 'Welcome to the messenger of the Messenger of Allah.' He said, 'I only take your pledge that you will not commit adultery, nor steal, nor kill your children, nor bring a slander you fabricate between your hands and feet, nor disobey in what is right.' Then he extended his hand from outside the house, and we extended our hands from inside the house. He said, 'O Allah, bear witness.' And he ordered us to go out on the two 'Ids, the free women and the menstruating women, and we were forbidden from following funerals, and there is no Friday prayer upon us.
