حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ قَالَ: نَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، قَالَ: نَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ بَصْرِيٌّ رَوَى عَنْهُ جَمَاعَةٌ - قَالَ: نَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ قُرَّةَ، عَنْ كَهْمَسٍ الْهِلَالِيِّ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ:
خَيْرُ النَّاسِ قَرْنِي الَّذِي أَنَا مِنْهُمْ، قَالَ: ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ، ثُمَّ يَنْشَأُ أَقْوَامٌ يَفْشُو فِيهِمُ السِّمَنُ يَشْهَدُونَ وَلَا يُسْتَشْهَدُونَ، وَلَهُمْ لَغَطٌ فِي أَسْوَاقِهِمْ

✧ The best of people are my generation, the one I am among. Then those who follow them. Then a people will arise among whom obesity will spread; they will testify without being asked to testify, and they will have clamor in their markets.
