✧ Uqbah b. Amir narrated to him that he went out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the expedition of Tabuk. One day the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sat speaking to his companions and said: “Whoever performs wudu and perfects it, then stands and prays two rak'ahs, his sins will be expiated, and he will be as on the day his mother gave birth to him.” Uqbah said: “Praise be to Allah who granted me to hear this hadith.” Umar, who was sitting, said: “Are you amazed at this? The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said before this, more than this. He said before you came.” I said to Umar: “What did he say?” He said: “The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ‘Whoever performs wudu and perfects it, then raises his gaze to the sky and says: I bear witness that there is no god but Allah alone, with no partner, and that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger, eight gates of Paradise will be opened for him, and he may enter through whichever of them he wishes.’”
