✧ Indeed, I am holding you back by your waist wrappers, saying, 'Come away from the Fire,' while you are rushing into it, or plunging like moths and locusts into the Fire. I am holding you back by your waist wrappers, and I will precede you to the Pond. You will come to me together and in scattered groups, and I will recognize you by your marks and your names, just as a man recognizes his horse - and someone else said: just as a man recognizes a stray camel among his camels. Then you will be taken to the left, and I will say, 'To me, O Lord, my community, my community!' It will be said, or He will say, 'O Muhammad, you do not know what they innovated after you; they went back on their heels after you.' So let me not see one of you coming on the Day of Resurrection carrying a bleating sheep, calling out, 'O Muhammad!' and I will say, 'I cannot avail you anything; I have conveyed the message.' And let me not see one of you coming on the Day of Resurrection carrying a bellowing camel, calling out, 'O Muhammad!' and I will say, 'I cannot avail you anything from Allah; I have conveyed the message.' And let me not see one of you coming on the Day of Resurrection carrying a leather bag, saying, 'O Muhammad, O Muhammad,' and I will say, 'I cannot avail you anything from Allah; I have conveyed the message.'"

machine translationOn the authority of ʿUmar b. al-Khaṭṭāb, may God be pleased with him, who said: The Messenger of God ﷺ said: "I am holding on to your waist-wrappers, (pulling you back) from the Fire, but you overpower me, rushing into it as moths and locusts rush. I am about to let go of your waist-wrappers, and I will go ahead of you to the Pond, and you will come to me together and in separate groups. I will recognize you by your names and your marks, as a man recognizes a stray camel among his camels. Then you will be taken to the left, and I will plead with the Lord of the worlds concerning you: 'My Lord, my people! My Lord, my community!' Then it will be said: 'You do not know what they innovated after you; they kept walking backwards.'" Aḥmad b. Zuhayr said: I heard Yaḥyā b. Maʿīn say: Yaʿqūb al-Qummī is sound in hadith (ṣāliḥ al-ḥadīth). Abū ʿUmar said: Ḥafṣ b. Ḥumayd is trustworthy (thiqah), a Kufan, and the others in this chain are too well known to need mentioning.
