وَحَدَّثَنَا عَبَّاسٌ النَّرْسِيُّ قَالَ: نَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، وَالْعَلَاءِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ قَالَ: تَحَدَّثْنَا عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ ذَاتَ لَيْلَةٍ حَتَّى أَكْرَيْنَا الْحَدِيثَ، ثُمَّ تَرَاجَعْنَا إِلَى الْبُيُوتِ فَلَمَّا أَصْبَحْنَا غَدَوْنَا إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ، فَقَالَ ﷺ:

عُرِضَتْ عَلَيَّ الْأَنْبِيَاءُ اللَّيْلَةَ بِأَتْبَاعِهَا مِنْ أُمَمِهَا، فَجَعَلَ النَّبِيُّ يَمُرُّ وَمَعَهُ الثَّلَاثَةُ مِنْ قَوْمِهِ، وَالنَّبِيُّ مَعَهُ الْعِصَابَةُ مِنْ قَوْمِهِ، وَالنَّبِيُّ مَعَهُ النَّفَرُ مِنْ قَوْمِهِ، وَالنَّبِيُّ لَيْسَ مَعَهُ مِنْ قَوْمِهِ أَحَدٌ، حَتَّى أَتَى عَلَيَّ مُوسَى بْنُ عِمْرَانَ فِي كَوْكَبَةٍ مِنْ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ، فَلَمَّا رَأَيْتُهُمْ أَعْجَبُونِي، فَقُلْتُ: رَبِّ مَنْ هَؤُلَاءِ ؟ قَالَ: هَذَا أَخُوكَ مُوسَى بْنُ عِمْرَانَ وَمَنْ تَبِعَهُ مِنْ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ، قُلْتُ: رَبِّ فَأَيْنَ أُمَّتِي ؟ قِيلَ: انْظُرْ عَنْ يَمِينِكَ، فَإِذَا الظِّرَابُ ظِرَابُ مَكَّةَ، قَدْ سُدَّ بِوُجُوهِ الرِّجَالِ، فَقُلْتُ: رَبِّ مَنْ هَؤُلَاءِ ؟ قِيلَ لِي: أُمَّتُكَ، فَقِيلَ لِي: هَلْ رَضِيتَ ؟ فَقُلْتُ: رَبِّ رَضِيتُ، رَبِّ رَضِيتُ، فَقِيلَ: انْظُرْ عَنْ يَسَارِكَ، فَإِذَا الْأُفُقُ قَدْ سُدَّ بِوُجُوهِ الرِّجَالِ، قُلْتُ: رَبِّ مَنْ هَؤُلَاءِ ؟ قِيلَ: أُمَّتُكَ قَالَ: فَقِيلَ لِي: هَلْ رَضِيتَ ؟ قَالَ: قُلْتُ: رَبِّ رَضِيتُ، رَبِّ رَضِيتُ، ثُمَّ قِيلَ لِي: إِنَّ مَعَ هَؤُلَاءِ سَبْعِينَ أَلْفًا يَدْخُلُونَ الْجَنَّةَ بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ، فَأَنْشَى عُكَّاشَةُ بْنُ مِحْصَنٍ، رَجُلٌ مِنْ بَنِي أَسَدِ بْنِ خُزَيْمَةَ، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ادْعُ اللهَ أَنْ يَجْعَلَنِيَ مِنْهُمْ قَالَ: اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْهُ مِنْهُمْ، ثُمَّ أَنْشَى رَجُلٌ آخَرُ، فَقَالَ: يَا نَبِيَّ اللهِ ادْعُ اللهَ أَنْ يَجْعَلَنِيَ مِنْهُمْ، فَقَالَ: سَبَقَكَ بِهَا عُكَّاشَةُ، ثُمَّ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: فِدًا لَكُمْ أَبِي وَأُمِّي إِنِ اسْتَطَعْتُمْ أَنْ تَكُونُوا مِنَ السَّبْعِينَ فَكُونُوا، فَإِنْ عَجَزْتُمْ أَوْ قَصَّرْتُمْ فَكُونُوا مِنْ أَهْلِ الظِّرَابِ، فَإِنْ عَجَزْتُمْ وَقَصَّرْتُمْ فَكُونُوا مِنْ أَهْلِ الْأُفُقِ، فَإِنِّي رَأَيْتُ ثَمَّ نَاسًا يَتَهَوَّشُونَ كَثِيرًا، ثُمَّ قَالَ نَبِيُّ اللهِ ﷺ: إِنِّي لَأَرْجُو أَنْ يَكُونَ مَنْ تَبِعَنِي مِنْ أُمَّتِي رُبُعَ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ قَالَ: فَكَبَّرْنَا، ثُمَّ قَالَ: إِنِّي لَأَرْجُو أَنْ يَكُونُوا الثُّلُثَ قَالَ: فَكَبَّرْنَا، ثُمَّ قَالَ: إِنِّي لَأَرْجُو أَنْ تَكُونُوا الشَّطْرَ فَكَبَّرْنَا، فَتَلَا النَّبِيُّ، ﷺ: ثُلَّةٌ مِنَ الأَوَّلِينَ وَثُلَّةٌ مِنَ الآخِرِينَ، فَتَرَاجَعَ الْمُسْلِمُونَ: مَنْ هَؤُلَاءِ ؟ لَا نَرَاهُمْ إِلَّا الَّذِينَ وُلِدُوا فِي الْإِسْلَامِ، وَلَمْ يَزَالُوا يَعْمَلُونَ بِهِ حَتَّى مَاتُوا عَلَيْهِ قَالَ: فَنَمَى حَدِيثُهُمْ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ: لَيْسَ كَذَا وَلَكِنَّهُمُ الَّذِينَ لَا يَسْتَرْقُونَ وَلَا يَكْتَوُونَ وَلَا يَتَطَيَّرُونَ وَعَلَى رَبِّهِمْ يَتَوَكَّلُونَ. وَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ لَا نَعْلَمُهُ يُرْوَى عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ إِلَّا مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ.

✧ The prophets were presented to me tonight with their followers from their nations. A prophet would pass by with three men from his people, a prophet with a band from his people, a prophet with a small group from his people, and a prophet with no one from his people, until Musa b. 'Imran came to me in a throng of the Children of Israel. When I saw them, they amazed me, so I said: 'My Lord, who are these?' He said: 'This is your brother Musa b. 'Imran and those who followed him from the Children of Israel.' I said: 'My Lord, where is my Ummah?' It was said: 'Look to your right.' And there were the hillocks, the hillocks of Makkah, filled with the faces of men. I said: 'My Lord, who are these?' It was said to me: 'Your Ummah.' Then it was said to me: 'Are you pleased?' I said: 'My Lord, I am pleased; my Lord, I am pleased.' Then it was said: 'Look to your left.' And there was the horizon filled with the faces of men. I said: 'My Lord, who are these?' It was said: 'Your Ummah.' Then it was said to me: 'Are you pleased?' I said: 'My Lord, I am pleased; my Lord, I am pleased.' Then it was said to me: 'With these, there are seventy thousand who will enter Paradise without reckoning.' So 'Ukkashah b. Mihsan, a man from Banu Asad b. Khuzaymah, stood up and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, supplicate Allah to make me one of them.' He said: 'O Allah, make him one of them.' Then another man stood up and said: 'O Prophet of Allah, supplicate Allah to make me one of them.' He said: ''Ukkashah beat you to it.' Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'May my father and mother be your ransom! If you are able to be among the seventy, then be so. If you are unable or fall short, then be among the people of the hillocks. If you are unable and fall short, then be among the people of the horizon, for I saw many people gathered there.' Then the Prophet of Allah ﷺ said: 'I hope that those who follow me from my Ummah will be a quarter of the people of Paradise.' He said: So we said 'Allahu Akbar.' Then he said: 'I hope that they will be a third.' He said: So we said 'Allahu Akbar.' Then he said: 'I hope that you will be half.' So we said 'Allahu Akbar.' Then the Prophet ﷺ recited: 'A multitude from the former generations and a multitude from the later generations.' The Muslims discussed among themselves: 'Who are these? We see them as none other than those who were born in Islam and continued to act upon it until they died upon it.' He said: Their talk reached the Prophet ﷺ, and he said: 'It is not so; rather, they are those who do not perform ruqyah, nor cauterize, nor believe in omens, and upon their Lord they rely.' And we do not know of this hadith being narrated from 'Abdullah, from the Prophet ﷺ, except through this route with this chain.
