✧ The Prophet ﷺ used to stay with Zaynab bt. Jahsh and drink honey at her place. Hafsah and I agreed that if the Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered upon either of us, she should say: 'I find the smell of maghafir on you; have you eaten maghafir?' Then he entered upon one of them, and she said that to him. He said: 'No, rather I drank honey at Zaynab bt. Jahsh's, and I will not do it again.' Then it was revealed: 'O Prophet, why do you prohibit what Allah has made lawful for you...' up to His saying: 'And when the Prophet confided to one of his wives a certain matter' - his saying: 'Rather, I drank honey.'
