The Messenger of Allah ﷺ led us in the fear prayer. We formed two rows, one row behind him and one row facing the enemy. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ pronounced the takbīr with the two rows behind him, and he prayed one rak'ah with two prostrations with those behind him. Then they went off to the place of their brothers, and the others came forward, passing through them, and he prayed with them one rak'ah with two prostrations. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ gave the salām, and those who were behind him prayed for themselves one rak'ah with two prostrations. Then they went off to their rows, and the others came forward and prayed for themselves one rak'ah with two prostrations. Khuṣayf said: And the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was between the enemy and the qiblah.
