( أَخْبَرَنَا ) أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، أَنْبَأَ أَبُو الْحَسَنِ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عُبْدُوسٍ، ثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الدَّارِمِيُّ، ثَنَا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ فِيمَا قُرِئَ عَلَى مَالِكٍ، ( ح ) وَحَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ، ثَنَا مَالِكٌ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي صَعْصَعَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ:
أَنَّ رَجُلًا سَمِعَ رَجُلًا يَقْرَأُ قُلْ هُوَ اللهُ أَحَدٌ يُرَدِّدُهَا، فَلَمَّا أَصْبَحَ جَاءَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَذَكَرَ ذَلِكَ لَهُ، وَكَأَنَّ الرَّجُلَ يَتَقَالُّهَا، وَقَالَ الْقَعْنَبِيُّ: يَقَالُّهَا، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ إِنَّهَا لَتَعْدِلُ ثُلُثَ الْقُرْآنِ - سُورَةُ الْإِخْلَاصِ

Al-Qaʿnabī, Maʿn, Abū Muṣʿab and the other transmitters of the Muwaṭṭaʾ narrated it from Mālik, from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. ʿAbdullāh b. ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Abī Ṣaʿṣaʿah, from his father, from Abū Saʿīd. Ismāʿīl b. Jaʿfar, Abū Ṣafwān al-Umawī ʿAbdullāh b. Saʿīd b. ʿAbd al-Malik b. Marwān, and ʿAbbād b. Ṣuhayb differed from them, and narrated it from Mālik, from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. ʿAbdullāh, from his father, from Abū Saʿīd, from his brother Qatādah b. al-Nuʿmān, from the Prophet ﷺ. They also differed regarding Mālik about the name of Ibn Abī Ṣaʿṣaʿah; the correct statement is that of Abū Maʿmar al-Quṭaʿī from Ismāʿīl b. Jaʿfar, and it is the right one.
