وَأَخْبَرَنَا ) أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ، أَنْبَأَ ابْنُ الْأَعْرَابِيِّ، ثَنَا الزَّعْفَرَانِيُّ، ثَنَا شَبَابَةُ، ثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، ثَنَا أَبُو جَمْرَةَ قَالَ:
قُلْتُ لِابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ: إِنِّي رَجُلٌ سَرِيعُ الْقِرَاءَةِ، وَرُبَّمَا قَرَأْتُ الْقُرْآنَ فِي لَيْلَةٍ مَرَّةً أَوْ مَرَّتَيْنِ، فَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ: لَأَنْ أَقْرَأَ سُورَةً وَاحِدَةً أَعْجَبُ إِلَيَّ مِنْ أَنْ أَفْعَلَ مِثْلَ الَّذِي تَفْعَلُ، فَإِنْ كُنْتَ فَاعِلًا لَا بُدَّ فَاقْرَأْهُ قِرَاءَةً تُسْمِعُ أُذُنَيْكَ وَيَعِيهِ قَلْبُكَ
