( أَخْبَرَنَا ) أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، ثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ الْجُرْجَانِيُّ إِمْلَاءً، أَنْبَأَ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الْوَشَّاءُ، ثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْجَعْدِ، أَنْبَأَ شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عِيَاضَ الْأَشْعَرِيَّ:
أَنَّ أَبَا مُوسَى ؓ وَفَدَ إِلَى عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ ؓ وَمَعَهُ كَاتِبٌ نَصْرَانِيٌّ، فَأَعْجَبَ عُمَرَ ؓ مَا رَأَى مِنْ حِفْظِهِ، فَقَالَ: قُلْ لِكَاتِبِكَ يَقْرَأُ لَنَا كِتَابًا. قَالَ: إِنَّهُ نَصْرَانِيٌّ لَا يَدْخُلُ الْمَسْجِدَ. فَانْتَهَرَهُ عُمَرُ ؓ وَهَمَّ بِهِ وَقَالَ: لَا تُكْرِمُوهُمْ إِذْ أَهَانَهُمُ اللهُ، وَلَا تُدْنُوهُمْ إِذْ أَقْصَاهُمُ اللهُ، وَلَا تَأْتَمِنُوهُمْ إِذْ خَوَّنَهُمُ اللهُ - عَزَّ وَجَلَّ
