    machine translationA weak (ḍaʿīf) hadith.

  • Ibn al-Qaṭṭān

machine translationThe defect (ʿillah) of this hadith is that the condition of Abū al-ʿUshārāʾ is not known, nothing is known of him or of his father except this hadith, and we do not know of anyone who narrated from him other than Ḥammād b. Salamah.

  • Abū Zakariyyā Yaḥyá b. Sharaf al-Nawawī

machine translationThis hadith is weak (ḍaʿīf); they agreed that it revolves around Abū al-ʿUshārāʾ, and they said he is unknown (majhūl), not known except through this hadith.

machine translationAs it has become clear to us, no one narrated from this Abū al-ʿUshārāʾ other than Ḥammād b. Salamah, and this hadith is known through Ḥammād from Abū al-ʿUshārāʾ.

  • Aḥmad b. Ḥanbal

machine translationIn my view it is a mistake (ghalaṭ).

  • Aḥmad b. Ḥanbal

machine translationIn my view it is a mistake (ghalaṭ); I do not like it and I do not adopt it except in a case of necessity.

  • Ibn Ḥajar al-ʿAsqalānī

machine translationThere is disagreement about the name of Abū al-ʿUshārāʾ and the name of his father, and Ḥammād b. Salamah alone narrated from him, according to the sound view, and his condition is not known.

  • al-Bukhari

machine translationIn the hadith of Abū al-ʿUshārāʾ, there is some question about his name and about his having heard from his father.

  • Khaṭṭābī

machine translationThey declared this hadith weak (ḍaʿīf) because its narrator is unknown (majhūl); it is not known who the father of Abū al-ʿUshārāʾ was, and no one narrated it other than Ḥammād b. Salamah.
